I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it immediately quieted me overstimulated, noisy brain. Prior to taking up meditation, the only thing that would quiet my overstimulated brain was being asleep.
I sit outside daily (or try to at least) when it is not to hot, for twenty minutes. Originally, I started doing it to try and repair my damaged optical nerves through sunlight therapy and fresh air. However, I began to notice that it was not helping my eyes (although I am sure that it is not hurting them) but that it was helping to quiet my noisy, overstimulated brain.
The feeling that I used to get (luckily it has decreased a lot) is like if you go to a party and everyone is talking all at once, it can be overwhelming and difficult to make out individual conversations. I didn't hear audible voices but I did feel that feeling constantly. I plan on doing my meditation when I get back home to Pamplona Spain. It is free and the only cost I incur is to my time. The benefits are worth it to me.
Til next time, Tyler
